CLUB AND SCHOOL SUPPLIES
(updated 24 Jun 10)
Special offer to clubs and schools: volume discount
on a sliding scale from only $350; terms and conditions apply.
- Consider a book for special effort or event success prizes.
Or a Headband? Or a mini control flag?
Alternatively we will make up gift vouchers for you.
- Silva Mapguide Compasses. Recommended by the NZOF
Coaching Director as the most suitable first compass for an orienteer.
Teachers, you can afford a class set at $270 a box of 10. Clubs, these are what you should be lending to newcomers, we know that baseplate compasses are difficult to use and take attention away from the map.
- For compass work (not to be confused with orienteering)
we supply the Silva
Type 7, which is a baseplate compass like the popular
Ranger Type 3
but with a shorter base. $40 singly, $350 for a box of 10. Limited stock at this price, a rise is inevitable.
- A3 Minigrip Mapbags in tough 70-micron thickness. Meets NZOF requirements for major events, this size is not available elsewhere and is specially manufactured for MAPsport. Out of stock, waterproof paper may remove the need for them, please ask if you still require.
- Map Wheel, essential tool for the course planner or rogainer; how often did you re-measure those course lengths??? Traditional mechanical model at $55. New electronic model at $75. "Lumocolour" purple spirit-based pens for map marking; $5. Staedtler "Erasor", rubs out ball-point on tracing film, sharpens to a point, ideal fieldwork; $5.

The wire in the hem is overlapped not joined but the sample has survived the Wellington wind for 6 months. $140 for a pack of 10. They also make a half-size flag ($100 for 10) and tiny 6cm mini-flags. The last are mostly bought singly as a novelty item ($10), but you can have 10 for $75. Be in quick, with the closure of the Wildsport operation there will be no more after current stock.
- Control Stands. Lightweight and robust fibreglass stakes
with foot pedal and cross piece drilled to take control punch;
metal ring to attach flag. Singles $13, or $100 per 10.
