Trevor Knowles has been appointed convenor of the NZOF MTB-orienteering committee.
He replaces Andy Clayton, who initiated the committee when he was secretary of the
federation, and was its first convenor. Clayton remains active in promoting MTBO,
recently organising NZ's first MTBO training weekend, at Hanmer.
Knowles is a member of Orienteering Hutt Valley, and attended the first world MTBO champs
in France last year, riding the associated public events and assisting NZ's only
official competitor Greg Barbour. He has two sons who take part in foot-orienteering
and works for LINZ in Wellington. The other committee members
are Kelly Fogden (WHO), Michael Wood (OHV), Brent Hoy and former orienteer
John Mote who represents the NZ MTB Association.
